Mr. Bhagiradhan Balachandran, affectionately known as Bhagi Balachandran, is a distinguished leader and a passionate advocate for community empowerment. With over 30 years of dedicated service in the Badulla District
Born in Badulla on December 25, 1974, Mr. Bhagiradhan Balachandran studied at S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia. He is the fourth generation of his family to reside in Badulla, contributing to over 130 years of family history in the region. He is married to Saritha Bhagiradhan.
Throughout his career, Bhagi has worked under various political banners, helping numerous students in both sports and academics. His primary vision is to ensure land rights and provide good education to all people of the Upcountry. He has dedicated many years to this cause and has taken significant steps to further his mission. He is now fully immersed in politics as a current member of the Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) and serves as the UVA Province organizer for the TPA.
